COVID-19:Edo MWAN place billboard in Languages to Educate Public

The Medical Women Association of Nigeria (MWAN), Edo Chapter has placed 8 billboards(English and Edo) in Benin,to enlighten the public on ways to stop the spread of Corona virus.

Dr Adesuwa Urhoghide-Edigin, the President of MWAN in Edo, made the call in a statement made available to newsmen on Saturday in Benin.

“More billboards would be placed in other locations of Edo state next week”.

“The billboards are in English, pidgin and in Edo language”.

“Mwan Edo visited Oliha market and Uselu market today to educate them on prevention of spread of Covid 19”.

“We gave hand sanitizers were also given to the security task force at the entrance of each market for use as people enter the market”.

“Security men guiding markets were also educated on the need for social distancing,hand hygiene. The public was educated on social distancing and how to wear/take off/wash the face-masks”,she said.

She said the association had organised free online awareness classes on Facebook in order to create awareness about Coronavirus (COVID-19).

“This is part of measures taken by MWAN to sensitize and create awareness about Coronavirus disease through the social media’’.

“The association is working effectively to see everyone in the state is aware of COVID-19”,she said.

Dr Urhoghide-Edigin advised the general public to practice social distancing,avoid social gatherings,avoid ill people,eat fruits always to boost immune system, wear their face masks, obey the star government rules and regulations concerning Covid 19 and maintain a high level of hygiene.

Reports say the billboards were placed in Oba market, Mission Road,Uselu Shell, Main gate Ugbowo, Sapele Rd, Oliha Market and Ogida barracks of Edo State.
