Delta APC Crisis: A good Commander has retreated, what next?.

A popular writer; Mark Twain once said that “In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid

join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.” Dear Delta APC, another change is here again and thank goodness that the scarce and brave Patriot has taken the lead to ending our internal unrest. While i agree that you are also a brave Patriot who is not “timid”, Do not hate and scorned our most outstanding Patriot for this is a noble cause to unite and pull all of our strengths together in order to liberate our dear Delta State.

Indeed, there is no doubt that the crisis that rocked the Delta State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress obviously came to an end with the statement released by a Founding Leader of our party in the State, Olorogun Olorogun O’tega Emerhor as published on several traditional and new media platforms.

The long crisis which made our party suffered unpredictable defeats and shocking humiliations especially in the 2019 National Assembly, Gubernatorial and State House of Assembly elections in major state Constituencies was never expected to end soon considering the ‘lost’ suffered by the pioneer Members of the party as led by the erstwhile Chief Cyril Ogodo structures which were the major casualties in the happenings of 2018 and 2019 within the party. Let me also acknowledge quickly that all our Party Aspirants and Candidates who lost in the primaries and general elections of 2019 are also major casualties of our impasse.

As rightly captured in the words of John F. Kennedy; “In a time of domestic crisis, men of goodwill and generosity should be able to unite regardless of party or politics”. Hence the standing ovation over Olorogun O’tega Emerhor’s decision in taking the bull by the horn and sue for absolute peace and reconciliation in the midst of an ongoing (win or loose) Court case that is before the Supreme Court. In the Tuesday release of Emerhor, he emphatically stated that “even a good fight must come to an end” which absolutely suggests the genuineness for a united and formidable Delta APC.

While I am yet to read a deserving response from the other side of the divide which one can describe in the present circumstances as the ‘Victors Camp’, one may also be right to say that he/she is disappointed with some of the bizarre reactions from some key Stakeholders in the Victors Camp.

If the grand Commander of the erstwhile Chief Ogodo led Structure in the field of War against the other side of the divide have proclaimed the end of the war even when he is very much aware that himself and his Contingents are the major Casualties of the ‘War’, what could be the loss of the Victors camp to embrace this open heart consolidating drive to depart from the old order?.

Indeed, “it is not enough to win a war; it is more important to organize the peace”. consequently, this is a humble call on the State working Committee of our great party to come out of her hideout caused by the war to initiate a peaceful move that will bring together all Members of the party fore and aft.

As it is expected, the Deputy President of the Nigeria Senate; Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-agege, Chief Great Ogboru among others are also to initiate the stage two of the reconciliation. The likes of Engr Hyacinth Enuha who is leading the late Senator Okpozor block in Delta APC, Chief Fred Obe and Prince Ikpama are also expected to come out of the grievances for the simple sake of uniting every block in the party together.

The power of the media in bringing peace to our great Party cannot also be over emphasized. On account of this, I also seek the absolute cooperation of the Media Advocates in Delta APC to cease forth with every activity fanning the ember of disunity especially on social media platforms.

Conclusively, the National working Committee of our Party as led by His Excellency, Comrade Adams Oshiomohle should swing into action to seal off the selfless solution provided by Olorogun O’tega Emerhor.
