Prince Sony Jifas Ogbon extended his empowerment to schools in Ethiope East after distributing books, and other learning and instructional materials to all primary schools pupils in Olomu kingdom; Ughelli South Local Government.
The teachers and pupils were all overwhelmed and filled with excitement for the magnanimity of the donor whom they described as a selfless man who has chosen to alleviate the suffering of indigent pupils and assist their parents by contributing to their educational well being.
Addressing the pupils, Prince Sony Jifas Ogbon said; he is aware of the difficulties some parents passed through in providing writing materials to their children especially in the rainy season when it is difficult for them to go to farm, this he noted has deprived so many pupils from continuing their education. A situation he said made him feel bad whenever he thought of it. Pained by this, he has decided to support the pupil’s and as well encouraged the teachers whom he also described as collaborators in the success story of the children.
He urged the pupil’s to take their learning very serious and ensure they take proper care of the books and other writing materials which could have been a sort of obstacle to their educational career, but said God has give it to them freely.
He admonished them to respect their teacher and stay focus as whatever they make out what they are taught by teachers will contribute and become a compass that will shape and direct their life in the right direction, noting that once they get it wrong in the foundation level, it will be difficult to correct it.
On the part of the teachers, Prince Sony Jifas Ogbon also presented wrappers to each teacher with a token to serve as incentive and as weel to appreciate and motivate them for the good work done and urged them not to relent in their efforts.
