The Disciplinary Sub Committee for the 2019 Bet9ja Royal Cup have banned two players from the competition.
The two players, Bernard Ebadan and Epini, were axed from the grassroot tournament for double registration.
Ebadan was registered for the competition to play with Excellent FC and at the same time as a player with Ekete United.
While Epini came in for Ovwian United with his real name, but he was registered at the same time as an Invincible Leopards player with a different name: Amos.
The chairman of Disciplinary Sub Committee, Onome Ubini, urged all participating teams to be truthful, transparent, and play according to the rules of the game.
“All teams should make use of this opportunity to be fair with one another,” Ubini stated.
“Be transparent and play according to the rules of the game.”
“Bet9ja agents in Delta State are giving us this platform to showcase our finest footballers at the grassroot,” he said.
“Rules are meant to be kept. Let’s follow the rules and enjoy ourselves. Let’s join hands together and make it work smoothly.”
The 13th edition of the Royal Cup will officially get under way on Saturday, September 14, 2019 when Texas Sport lock horns with Royal FC by 10am at the All Saints Anglican Church Field in Asaba.
