2nd ADUN CONVOCATION: We Place High Premium On Education, Says Tinubu

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has said his administration places a high premium on quality education to equip youths for active participation in governance in nation building.

President Tinubu spoke on Thursday 23rd, November 2023 at the 2nd convocation of the Admiralty University of Nigeria (ADUN) ceremony, Ibusa, Delta state.

The President, who was represented by Mrs. Stella Ugochukwu, director in the federal ministry of education said the “Tinubu lead administration beliefs in youths empowerment, and it will continue to place a premium on quality education to equip youths for active participation in governance in the nation building”

The President revealed that his administration is committed to the welfare of both teaching and non-teaching staff in tertiary institutions and students also to enable them to meet their educational needs”.

Tinubu commended the Nigeria Navy for the vision to bear the noble education institution with the main objectives to expand frontiers of knowledge in various unique specializations, especially in the naval and marine time space.

President Tinubu advised the graduates to use the knowledge gained from the institution as a tool towards development and enhancement of human well-being to address the challenges of the nation building in Nigeria and to raise exemplary leaders that will serve humanity.

President Tinubu, however, called on the youths to take advantage of the students’ free loans to tackle their educational financial challenges in the pursuit of their education

The President also urged stakeholders and philanthropists to complement government in the areas of research, structuring development and awards of scholarship to best graduating students.

In his address, the Governor of Delta State, who was represented at the ceremony by his Deputy, Sir Monday Onyeme, commended the management and staff of Admiralty University for addressing human capital development, saying is one of the key thrusts of the state government.

Oborewori said the Delta state government understands the importance of education not only in the lives of every individual, especially among the youths, and also in nation building.

The Governor assured that the seamless relationship between the Delta state government and Admiralty University will continue to grow.

The Governor also, congratulated the graduates and charged them to embrace innovative approaches and be worthy ambassadors of the institution.

Also speaking at the ceremony, Chief of Naval staff, vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla urged the graduates to utilize what they have learned and put into good use outside world just as he loud the effort of the institution management for producing future luminary leaders

Earlier, Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Paul Omojo Omaji noted that the university is committed to principles of excellence, integrity, and respect for hard work.

Prof. Omojo Omaji added that, the success stories of the university were as a result of the unbranded support of the Nigeria Navy.

Prof. Omojo Omaji said he believes that the graduates will actualize the dreams that they have developed in the course of their four-year sojourn that has blossomed in their new status as luminary leaders.

The vice chancellor disclosed that graduates of the University were prepared to face the challenges of the society.

High point of the convocation ceremony was the presentation of cash awards to the best graduating students, and others who have contributed in one way to the development of the institution.
