Appeal Court sitting in Benin has upturned the judgment of the election tribunal which nullified the senatorial election in Delta South Senatorial District, and affirm the election of Senator James Manager.
Justice A. Jauro-led appeal panel in a judgement delivered set aside the judgement of the tribunal ordering a rerun, and affirmed Senator James Manager as the authentic winner of the election in Delta South.
The appellate court dismissed the petition filed by Uduaghan urging it to be declared winner of the election.
Also, the appeal court has affirmed the victory of the Nigerian senate deputy president, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, representing Delta Central on the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC), whose election is being challenged by Hon. Evelyn Oboro of the Peoples Democratic Party.
The appeal filed by Evelyn Oboro against Omo-Agege was thrown out for lack of merit.
