Akeredolu Confirms First Coronavirus Case in Ondo

The Governor of Ondo state, Rotimi Akeredolu has confirmed the first case of coronavirus in Ondo state.

Akeredolu who made the confirmation on his Twitter handle, said the infected person is currently under isolation and would be monitored.

He said, “We have just received confirmation of our first positive COVID-19 case this evening. The infected person is currently under isolation and would be monitored.

“We have activated all necessary protocol to locate all contacts and we’ve been working closely with NCDC.”

Similarly, the Ondo state Commissioner for Information, Donald Ojogo, in Akure, the state capital, also confirmed the development in a statement he issued.

“It is with great concern that the Ondo State Government announces the index case. A suspected case tested positive to the COVID-19 pandemic.”
