Delta Commissioner urges contractors to hasten completion of projects

The Delta Commissioner for Higher Education Prof. Patrick Muoboghare has directed contractors handling projects at the main campus of the State University, Abraka to complete work without further delay.

Dennis Medi,the Public Relations Officer (PRO), disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday in Asaba.

The PRO said Muoboghare gave the directive when he inspected the multi-billion naira new Senate building complex and other projects in the university.

The Commissioner, who expressed satisfaction at level of work on the six storey complex, however,told the contractor to ensure its completion and handling over before the next convocation ceremony early 2020.

Responding, Daniel Awaritefe, the site engineer of the project assured the commissioner that with regular payment, the job would be completed before the end of February 2020.

Muoboghare, however, urged the contractor handling the Multi-Purpose 500 capacity lecture theatre complex to hasten the completion of the job.

The commissioner later inspected the site of the faculty of science complex of the institution, where he called on the contractor to work harder in order to complete the job on time.

The Director,Planning, Research and Statistics in the Ministry, Mrs Martina Amromanor and some members of stafftaff of the ministry accompanied the commissioner during the inspection.
