In a bid to cushion the effect of the fuel subsidy removal by the Federal Government, Delta State government has said it has given a directive to the state palliative working committee to review upward the second phase of palliative to workers in the state.
The State Head of Service, Sir Reginald Bayoko gave the revelation on Monday when he spoke with journalists in an interview at Asaba, that the state governor has called for a brief and update on the way forward.
He said, “the state governor has called for an update on the implementation of the second phase of the palliative and also given a directive to the palliative working committee to review the process that has been made”.
He noted “the pronouncement of the governor regarding that will take effect from where it stopped, saying “he don’t envisage that there will be a gap”.
He disclosed further that the state governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborewori is in particular worried about the pained and welfare of workers across the state, that is why every worker on the government payroll where captioned in the exercise.
On the training of workers in the state, he explained that the feedback has been a success, that beneficiaries of the training have vowed to put in what they have learned into good use during their work activities.
Adding that because of the success stories, the state government had been able to sustain it over the years, and that it is humanly endeavor and there is always room for improvement.
While he urged workers in the state to always put in their best at every given time, whether good, and challenging times.
