DSPG 3rd CONVOCATION: Oborewori Vows To Give Priority To Existing Infrastructural Development

Delta state Governor,Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborewori, said his administration is committed and will continue to create a conducive learning climate at every level through the provisions of adequate infrastructures, equipment for laboratory and maintaining a peaceful environment for both staff and students.

The Governor stated this on Saturday November 18,2023 at the 3rd combined convocation ceremony held at the school permanent site, Ogwashi-Uku

The Governor, who was represented by his deputy, Sir Monday Oyeme, said graduation is a time to set new goals and targets.

He expressed confidence that the public and private sectors will benefit from the grandaunts professionalism and entrepreneurial skills.

The Governor, however, advised the grandaunts to be disciplined in their respective journey of life and embrace innovative approaches, just as he urged them to be good ambassadors to the institution by contributing to the economy growth of the school and the development of the nation at large.

Governor Oborewori also admitted that the Polytechnic is a fast-growing institution, and appreciated the efforts of the school for the improvements made so far in infrastructure development, capacity building, entrepreneurial and sports.

While he appealed to the school governing council, management, and staff of the school to do more on the work they had be doing.

Earlier, the Rector, Bldr. Prof. Emmanuel Achuenu revealed that the significance of the 2023 convocation ceremony is the crowning of the glory of an academic odyssey which the quest for higher learning entails.

Prof. Achuenu said tertiary education is rigorous, and sharpens the thought process and morals of the students for global stability, peace and development.

Achuenu added that “A convocation ceremony is thus the final rite, conferring a new status on whoever acquires tertiary education”.

Prof. Emmanuel Achuenu commended the state Governor, Oborewori for his relentless support and advancing the growth and development of the state owed Polytechnic, Ogwashi-Uku, especially through creating a conducive environment for both staff and students.

The convocation ceremony was well attended by top traditional rulers, and presentation of award to the Governor, deputy governor and others who have contributed to the growth of the nation.
