No Dusk-To- Dawn Curfew in Udu Communities – Udu LGA chairman

The Executive chairman, Udu Local Government Area Council, Jite Brown, has denied declaring a Dusk-to-Dawn curfew in some communities in the Local Government Area,saying that they only held a security meeting with stakeholders to draw up a road map to quell the rising level of insecurity in some communities in the Local Government Area.

There was a report(not on The South Daily) that the chairman of Udu Local Government Council in Delta State, Jite Brown has imposed a dusk-to-dawn curfew on some areas in the council over the spate of cult related clashes.

Areas affected by the curfew are Ovwian town, Ekete Inland, Ekete Waterside, Owhase town, Orhuwhorun Junction, Express Junction and Mofor Junction.

But speaking with our correspondent on the phone, the chairman denied the report, saying that they only held security meeting to discuss security issues as it affect some communities in Udu

“We have not concluded that( dusk-to-dawn curfew) because we need the permission of the authority, I don’t know why anyone will be making such report”

“We just discuss security issues as it affect some communities, but we need further clarifications from the State Government, so I am surprise somebody is bringing this up now”

“No curfew has been declared formally in any of the Udu communities until we get confirmation of the State Government” the chairman said.
