Orji’s son becomes Abia Speaker as states inaugurate assemblies

Chinedum Orji, a son of former governor of Abia State, Theodore Orji on Monday emerged Speaker of the 7th House of Assembly. Orji represents Umuahia East state constituency.

Other principal officers of the House include Ifeanyi Uchendu (PDP) (Deputy Speaker), Solomon Akpulonu of Obingwa East (PDP) (Majority Leader) and Munachim Alozie of Ugwunagbo (PDP) (Chief Whip).

Others are Abraham Oba of Aba Central (APGA) (Minority Leader), Paul Taribo of Ukwa East (PDP) (Deputy Majority Leader) and Chukwu Chijioke of Bende North (APC) (Deputy Minority Leader).

In his inaugural speech, Orji pledged that at all times, he would do his best and would not disappoint Abians.
