In the second tie of the day at the Kwale Township Stadium, Ede United did not honour their game against De Unique FC in Group D.
It was the second time the Agbor side had missed a group game, after they did not turn up for their Matchday 1 tie against Maro11 Speedstar Academy because of team players allegedly refusing to travel for the fixture.
Reacting to the development, the Local Organizing Committee,LOC, say in a statement that the failure of Ede United to turn up for their last two group games is unfortunate and does not reflect the discipline expected of a grassroot club.
Ede United was thereafter disqualified from the 2019 edition of the Royal Cup and all results against them nullified.
The statement says the remaining teams in Group D: De Unique FC, Young Professionals and Maro11 Speedstar Academy, will play the remaining fixtures accordingly, with two to qualify for the Round of 16.
