Igbinedion University Okada has held its third Oath Taking/Induction Ceremony for nurses produced by the institution.
The event which was held at the Central Bank of Library of IUO featured the induction of 39 qualified nurses into the nursing profession.

speaking shortly after the induction, the Secretary General/Registrar,Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria, Alhaji Faruk Abubakar, who was represented by Mercy Nnadi, described the nursing profession as a “care giving” profession, urging practitioners adhere strictly to the ethics.
“Today indeed is a very joyous day for all of you,your parents,guardians,friends and love ones”.
“On behave of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria,I congratulate you on your induction ceremony”.
“I also congratulate you for passing the exam that qualifies you for this induction”.
“A day like this is set aside to remind our professionals their unique roles in the profession and how it can be improved”,he said.
He further advised the inductees to always abide by the laws guiding the nursing profession and provide care to patients all the time.

Delivering the induction lecture titled:”Team Work:The Unique Role of the Nurse in the Health Care System”, a lecture, Dr. Beatrice Ohaeri charged the nurses never to get carried way with praises of becoming a nurse.
She challenged them never to forget their functions, which include promoting health, preserving lives, restoring health and alleviating suffering.
