MWAN advise women to go for yearly health routine checks

The Medical Women Association of Nigeria(MWAN) Edo State has advised women to carry out a yearly routine check on their health.

Dr Adesuwa Urhoghide-Edigin, the President of MWAN Edo chapter, gave the advice in an interview with newsmen on Wednesday in Benin.

She said one of the top priorities of MWAN on International Women’s day was to encourage women to recognize the importance of the inter relationships of environment and social aspect of life as an influence on health. Women’s wellness and well-being was stressed on just as much as the importance of women getting equal opportunities.

“Health checks and health education in the communities are very important”.

“MWAN is set to stimulate, encourage and promote gender equality while carrying out free health Screenings and giving health talks.

“Today we celebrated 100 days in office.MWAN has done a lot just within this short period of time. We have executed over 20 programs and for a non profit organization that is more than a 99% pass mark”.

Dr Adesuwa said better engagement of members in MWAN activities has been achieved by great advocacy. Also through our move Mwan Edo link.

She said the link have helped members of MWAN create ideas on how to sensitize the public on recent diseases like corona virus and Lassa fever in the state.

She thanked all members of MWAN for joining efforts and helping in the creation of awareness about deadly diseases.
