Group Call On Buhari To Intervene & Stop Premium Steel Ltd From Selling Off Steel Company.
A group known as The Emerging Delta (TED) has called on President Buhari to call to order Premium Steel & Mines Limited from what they termed “outright sales of the assets and properties” of the defunct Delta Steel Company (DSC)
In an open SOS letter signed by the Group’s Convener, Stanley Efe and addressed to President Buhari and copied to the Senate President, Gov. Okowa of Delta State and AMCON, the group posited that Premium Steel & Mines Limited is not ready to commence steel production, rather they are after stripping DSC of its properties and Assets.
The letter reads;

*SOS LETTER: PLEASE STOP PREMIUM STEEL & MINES LTD FROM SELLING OFF DSC*
I’m writing to draw your attention to the callous and wicked activities of the Indian firm, PREMIUM STEEL & MINES LTD that took over the management of Delta Steel Company (DSC) from GLOBAL STEEL. This has become necessary in order to stop PREMIUM STEEL from selling off DSC, thereby bringing the Company to a comatose.
For over six (6) years that PREMIUM STEEL took over the management of DSC, they have not been able to fix major components, units to recycle scrap to produce rods and billet.
An investigative visit to the Company at Aladja, in Udu LGA of Delta State shows a can of worms been perpetuated by Management to bring DSC to its knees. Instead of rolling out measures to resuscitate the almost moribund steel giant, PREMIUM STEEL is currently selling off the properties and assets of the Company they acquired when they took over.
One begin to wonder why a Company that took over the management of DSC with the sole aim of revamping the Company and commence production will resort to selling off their properties and assets like Caterpillars, Vehicles, Transformers, Generators, Cranes, Excavators and other production machineries within the Company premises. This is totally unacceptable and we condemn it. PREMIUM STEEL & MINES LTD must be stopped from further plunging DSC and her staff into untold hardship.
Your anti-corruption stand aimed at making Nigeria a better place for us all is widely applauded. If Nigeria must regain her place as a major steel producing Country in the World, then management of PREMIUM STEEL must be called to order, if possible sanctioned. Our National assets should not be disposed off as scrap when in actual sense, they can be revived to start operating optimally and efficiently.
Excellency Sir, please do the needful and save our souls before PREMIUM TIMES & STEEL destroy DSC and run away. We cannot continue this way!
